Estimate the cost of your kitchen remodel.
Tell us the dimensions of your kitchen and the materials you're considering — we'll generate a custom estimate you can use to move your remodel forward.
What kind of kitchen remodel are you planning?
We divide our kitchen remodels into three tiers: Cosmetic Refresh, Pull & Replace, and Full Custom. No matter which level you choose, you'll be working with Portland's premier design-build firm — that means you'll partner with one of our interior designers, a design consultant who guides you through the entire project, and a dedicated site superintendent. This estimate will be higher than a general contractor's (and of course DIY). Read about the different ways to tackle a remodel →

Our team walks through how to think about scope and budget for a Portland kitchen remodel. As a design-build firm, our quotes include design drawings, custom cabinetry, licensed trades, a design consultant who guides your project, and a dedicated site superintendent.
This estimate will be higher than a general contractor's bid (and of course DIY). What you're paying for is one accountable team handling design through final walkthrough — no coordination headaches between separate designers, GCs, and subs.

Don't worry about being exact — a rough estimate gets you a useful number. We use linear feet of cabinets because that's how our designers actually price a kitchen.
What level of cabinetry feels right?
All three tiers are well-built — the difference is how much you can customize and how perfect the fit and finish are.
Even our entry-level Good cabinets are well-constructed — the difference between tiers is customizability and finish refinement, not durability.
Good is stock with set widths and ~12 finish options. Better adds adjustable sizing, 100+ finishes, and pull-out storage solutions — the sweet spot for most of our Portland clients. Best is fully custom, milled to any dimension or door style by our Oregon partner Knight Cabinetry.

Which countertop material fits your kitchen?
Counters make up roughly 10% of the budget on most of our projects. Each option below is one we regularly install — pick the look and lifestyle fit, and we'll source from our partner fabricators.
Counters typically run 8–15% of the kitchen budget. Each material has its own personality — quartz for low-maintenance consistency, quartzite for natural drama, marble for timeless luxury (and patina with use), and Dekton for serious cooks who want to set hot pans down directly. Solid surface like Corian gives you seamless joints and integrated sinks at a lower price.
Your designer will pull physical samples to your home so you can see them in your actual light before committing.

What appliance package do you have in mind?
Appliances are typically 10–15% of the budget. Bundled packages can save 10–15% over buying piece by piece, and our designers will help coordinate specs with your cabinet drawings.
Appliances are typically 10–15% of the budget. Bundled packages can save 10–15% over buying piece by piece, and our designers will coordinate specs with your cabinet drawings before anything is ordered.
A heads-up: don't lock in appliances before your cabinet drawings are finalized. Pro-grade ranges and built-in refrigerators have specific cabinet, ventilation, and electrical requirements — ordering early and then changing your mind can mean expensive cabinet rework.

What about the kitchen floor?
If you have original Portland hardwoods worth preserving, refinishing is usually the right call. If you're starting fresh, your designer will help match the floor to the rest of the home's flow.
About 60% of the Portland-area homes we remodel have original hardwoods worth saving. If yours are sound but tired, a refinish (sand + re-stain + three coats of finish) typically runs $4–$6 per square foot — that can save $5,000–$12,000 versus replacing entirely, money better spent on cabinets or counters.
For new floors, your designer will help match material to the rest of the home's flow. Engineered hardwood is a designer-favorite for Portland kitchens because it handles moisture better than solid wood while still looking and refinishing like real hardwood.

Maybe you want to move the sink under a window. Maybe you're curious what removing that wall would actually cost. Maybe these are all part of the kitchen you've been imagining. Check anything you want priced in — or none, if your current layout works. Nothing here is required.
As a design-build firm, our team handles every part of a structural remodel — from the load calculations to the framing crew to the final reveal. You'll work with one interior designer for the design phase, a design consultant who guides the whole project, and a dedicated on-site superintendent during construction. No coordinating between separate architects, GCs, and subs.
Plumbing, electrical, and structural work is roughly 15% of the typical Portland kitchen budget. Even a single change like moving the sink under a window or removing one wall can transform how a kitchen lives — and our team prices these up front so you can compare options side-by-side.

Add-ons to explore
These might be nice-to-haves, or they might be required for the kitchen you've been imagining. Check anything you'd like priced in — we'll factor it into your estimate. Skip them all if your project doesn't need them.
Maybe you're curious what a custom island would actually cost. Maybe a walk-in pantry is the difference between this kitchen working for your family or not. Maybe integrated appliances are the design move that ties everything together.
There's no penalty for exploring — check anything you want priced in. Some of these will turn out to be nice-to-haves you defer. Others will turn out to be the reason you're remodeling in the first place. Your design consultant will help you sort which is which at the consultation.
