This Beaverton kitchen remodel supported a homeowner couple whose kitchen project had stalled out for over a year due to medical issues.

Lamont Bros. Design & Construction stepped in to reorganize the effort, bringing together internal teams and trusted trade partners to carry the project through to completion.

The result is a thoughtfully designed, highly functional kitchen that transformed a difficult situation into a cohesive and livable space.

2024 Giveback Program Recipient

The Giveback program is an initiative by Lamont Bros. Design & Construction to use our expertise in home remodeling to make a meaningful impact in the community.

As the company has grown, we saw an opportunity to leverage our team, trade partners, and resources to help homeowners facing difficult circumstances by completing home remodeling projects that could otherwise be out of reach for the homeowner.

This kitchen remodel project was the first Giveback program, where we brought together a network of vendors and subcontractors who were eager to contribute their time, materials, and skills toward a shared goal.

Project Goals

The primary goal of this project was to take an incomplete, non-functional kitchen and turn it into a fully finished space that supports everyday life.

To complete this kitchen remodel, the Lamont Bros. Design & Construction team:

Secured exposed electrical wires
Completed unfinished surfaces
Delivered a clean, cohesive design
Installed new cabinetry, countertops, and appliances
Merged old and new flooring for a cohesive look

Unique Features

One of the more interesting aspects of this project was working within a partially completed space and blending new construction with existing materials.

The flooring, for example, required carefully tying new installation into older sections where previous cabinetry had disrupted the layout.

Achieving a seamless look for the floor involved precise planning, leveling uneven areas, and thoughtful installation to make everything feel intentional and continuous.

Construction Approach & Execution

The Lamont Bros. Design & Construction team approached this project using our typical smart workflow.

Flooring was installed in batches— measuring, cutting, and staging multiple rows at once— to reduce downtime and keep productivity high.

Similarly, sequencing decisions like completing tile work before countertops allowed for a cleaner finish and smoother installation overall.

As usual for a Lamont Bros. kitchen remodeling project, there was high attention to detail throughout, including ensuring proper expansion gaps in the floating floor to carefully aligning new materials with existing ones.

Overall, this project was a perfect example of the importance of coordination and communication across every phase of construction. With multiple trades working in close sequence—from drywall and cabinetry to stone, flooring, and mechanical—the team is working together to keep progress steady and deliver a high-quality finished space.
